Artist Maddie Hahn
My name is Jordan Slemmer, and I am the founder of Rainy Days. Our motto is simple: Where art finds home. I truly love representing the artists we work with, including Devin, Nina, Landry, Bre, Julia, Joel, Monica, Daunt, El Artista, and Maddie.
When I began this journey, I had one vision: to curate art globally in hotels, apartments, houses, townhomes, anywhere that we find home. Why? Because with each passerby, the memory of an artwork lives on. Maybe not as the highest financially valued sale or even as something pleasant to everyone, but in some form or manner. Once we are gone, all we have left in the world are the memories we leave behind.
For centuries, collectors have sought the idealistic nature of amassing collections that speak for themselves. Through the power of visual storytelling, art is honest. Honest in the sense that many believe art is left to the eyes of the beholder.
Take the intricate poems woven into Maddie Hahn's oil paintings. Collectors of art from Rainy Days Gallery, RDG, may feel spoken to by the layered blending behind Maddie’s works. But take a step back. I’m moved by the legs standing atop a collection of leaves. Along both legs of the hidden figure, we find a horde of ladybugs.

Looking further down, we notice the purple shoes. I often ask myself why the purple. Why does this purple make me feel so calm? Is it the warm hues of skintones? Often, the assembled elements from Maddie are a collection of paintings that come together within her painting. You’ll notice some of the red ladybugs are drawn in on the collaged elements, while other pieces of collage are painted just as meticulously as they are applied. The talent here extends beyond that of a paintbrush against canvas.
When she’s not found painting in nature, Maddie creates from her heart through collage and assemblage. Each element of her collage work feels like its own standalone painting, carefully placed and never accidental.
I love walking into the warming greens behind Maddie's impressionistic talent. She holds a BFA in Drawing and Painting from the University of Colorado Boulder, but her strength goes far beyond technical skill. Maddie blends poetic charm with painterly layers that reflect a quiet complexity. And beyond that, she brings the same tenderness and generosity to those around her.
To have the fortune of collecting one of Maddie’s paintings or to work with her on a commission is a joy you should not let pass.
